It is honor to invite you to participate in the 35th Anniversary of the Alma-Ata Primary Health Care Declaration Conference, which will be held on November 6-7, 2013 in Almaty city (former Alma-Ata), Kazakhstan.
More than three decades have been passed since the International Conference on Primary Health Care had adopted the historical Declaration of Alma-Ata. It was the first international conference that had underlined the importance of primary health care. PHC was recognized as a main tool for attainment of health for all and the first level of national health care systems which supposed to be as close and accessible as possible. However, many governments are still struggling nowadays to launch and sustain PHC at an adequate level. Therefore, aims proclaimed in the Declaration are still as urgent as 35 years ago.
Kazakhstan launches such conferences every 5 years gathering under own shanyrak countries with the best practices of the PHC development. This year the main course of action for Kazakhstan healthcare is development of primary health care. Thus, the upcoming conference would be a great platform for the knowledge and experience eхсhаnge among all countries.
This year it is planned to dedicate to the major economical and social сhаngеs which have happened in the Member States over the last decades and their impact on the development of health systems and primary health care, and, in turn, on the main health and inequalities indicators. The universal PHC coverage and innovations in terms of the implementation of the Alma-Ata Declaration basic principles will take center stage.
Looking forward to meet you in Almaty city!
